Classical Ballet.
Where Grace, Strength & Confidence Grow. From a child’s very first ballet class to advanced vocational training, our ballet programme provides a clear and inspiring pathway for every dancer. Students are guided by experienced teachers through the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, developing strong technique, musicality, confidence and a lifelong love of dance.

Students are placed in the level best suited to their age, experience and ability, allowing them to progress with confidence as their technique and skills develop.
Graded ballet
Primary at 6, then Grades 1 to 8. Each grade builds vocabulary, strength and musical understanding, with an examination at the end.
Vocational and pointe
Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation and Senior RAD, with Pointe from Beginner 1 through to Advanced.
Pointe work begins only when a teacher judges a student ready for it, never by age alone.
What Happens in Class?
The shape of a ballet lesson stays recognisable from the earliest years to the vocational grades.
Technique
Students develop posture, alignment, strength and coordination through structured barre and centre work.
Musicality
Music is at the heart of every ballet class, helping students understand rhythm, timing, phrasing and expression.
Performance
Students have opportunities to bring their training to the stage through productions, showcases and special performances.
Class Times.
Ballet runs Wednesday through Sunday. Below is the shape of the week, and the full timetable carries every class and teacher.
Saturday and Sunday
The busiest days, running from 9:00 AM through to late afternoon across every level.
Wednesday and Thursday
Afternoon and evening classes from 3:15 PM, timed around the school day.
Friday
Afternoon classes from 2:00 PM, covering Prep through the graded levels.
Ballet Uniform.
Our ballet uniform changes as students progress through the grades, helping create a sense of discipline, belonging and achievement. The required leotards, skirts, tights, ballet shoes and other ballet essentials are available from The Ballet Centre. Our team will advise you on the correct uniform for your child’s level.
Babies to Primary
Pink leotard with skirt or tutu, pink ballet socks, and pink leather ballet shoes with elastic.
Grades 1 to 5
Lavender leotard with matching belt for Grades 1 and 2, mulberry for Grades 3 to 5, with character skirt and shoes.
Grade 6 upward
Navy leotard and chiffon skirt through Grades 6 to 8, then black for vocational levels with pointe shoes and ribbons.
